At H&H Cabinet Design, we are committed to providing our customers with the best blend of quality, price, and service to meet their budget needs. We believe listening to customers’ wants and needs is paramount to the design process, combined with education of the different options - we can confidently design, install, and finish the kitchen of your dreams!
Our first meeting with you is intended to accomplish 2 main goals:
The First Goal is for us to get an understanding of your project, new construction vs. remodel, if you have a contractor, interior designer, construction plans. We also want to see if you have inspiration pictures or a “Vision” for the completed project.
The Second Goal is to help show you different options for how we can help you achieve a beautiful, completed project. This obviously involves basic cabinet selections but will most likely also include conversations about additional needed items you might not be aware of.
This process typically takes about 60-90 minutes at our showroom.
After the Initial Consultation, we start with the design process. This is where we take information and selections from our first meeting and start to draw your kitchen in the Design Live software that gives an exact price for your cabinets as drawn and provides 3D renderings of the Design for review. Depending on the workload and scale of your job this process might take a few days or a few weeks to compete.
Once Completed, we have an solid estimate for material and labor!
Once we have completed the preliminary design to your specifications, we ask for a 5% Job Retainer. This is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit that applies towards your cabinet purchase if completed within 6 months. The retainer allows you access to the cabinet drawings, and 2 sets of revisions as needed.
To finalize the cabinet order, we come to the house, confirm measurements based on our plans. Mark centerlines for appliances and plumbing as needed for other trades planning purposes. Reconcile measurements as needed. Notify you of construction changes that would prevent the cabinets as designed from being installed. At this point we d
To finalize the cabinet order, we come to the house, confirm measurements based on our plans. Mark centerlines for appliances and plumbing as needed for other trades planning purposes. Reconcile measurements as needed. Notify you of construction changes that would prevent the cabinets as designed from being installed. At this point we do require a list with specifications on any new appliance/plumbing pieces being installed into the cabinets so we can confirm fit (please note, if you change appliances the new selections may not be compatible with the cabinet design).
We schedule a final design review meeting to make sure drawings and selections are correct, confirm any outstanding questions and collect deposit for cabinet order. Note, cabinets cannot be ordered without a 50% deposit – this includes the 5% retainer already paid.
Once the deposit has been paid, your cabinet order is submitted. This process requires an order for each different combination of door/wood species/color change, and includes additional orders for hardware, specialty organizer inserts, glass/mirror, and other items. Once the deposit has been paid, your cabinet order is submitted. This process requires an order for each different combination of door/wood species/color change, and includes additional orders for hardware, specialty organizer inserts, glass/mirror, and other items. This process can be simple, depending on the complexity of your job – we will always try to provide you with the overall lead time to include the order process but please understand this is a best estimate and sometimes factors outside our control will increase or decrease the overall lead time.
40% payment is due 48 hours prior to shipping cabinets to your workspace.
We used highly skilled and experienced installers to set cabinets into your workspace. This process will be managed by the team @ H&H Cabinets to coordinate the construction schedule and finish level detail.
Cabinetry often requires multiple trips to complete but typically will be done in major phases:
Initial installation of cabinets – at this time we typically can install all or most of the cabinetry wall, base, and tall cabinets. Many times, the major cabinet trims like crown molding and toe kicks can be installed with the cabinets. Doors and Drawers are adjusted, and knobs/pulls are installed. The Jobsite is walked through by the H&H Team to see if there are any missing or defective parts that need to be ordered to complete the installation process.
Due the complex nature of kitchens and bathrooms, it has become common that we need to schedule a trim out. This typically occurs after countertops, backsplashes, appliances and maybe even floors are installed. This trim out allows for a better and more custom fit and finish level. It is also a time when we would typically install any service warranty parts from the initial installation.
At this point we will invoiced the 10% final balance.
Construction is messy – there are lots of trades all working in tight spaces and we have become accustomed to needing to come back AFTER final clean to do any paint/stain touchup, and final adjustments, install any outstanding service/warranty parts.
This is the last major installation stage, and you should have a beautiful functional space at this point!
We assume responsibility to correct any errors on our part to ensure cabinets and parts fit your approved design. Simply put – if we make a mistake we will fix it. Also, because changes will occur during construction, we will work with you to analyze and overcome any issues,. We will communicate and work with you in a way that is always straightforward and fair to all involved. - Jim Henderson, Managing Partner
